art002e050885 (April 6, 2026) – Artemis II crew member Christina Koch sketched the Orientale basin as observed through Orion’s docking hatch during the lunar flyby. Her in-flight annotation documents differences in texture across the basin and surrounding terrain, including areas she described as smooth and rough. The sketch is oriented with the Moon’s South Pole toward the top, an unconventional orientation that reflects the crew’s view from the spacecraft.
